Be realistic.
There are a couple of things that are really important here. The first thing is to acknowledge what a dating coach can do and what they can’t do. Most guys go to a dating coach because they want a dating coach to fix them. They want a dating coach to basically create change in them. As a dating coach myself, and this probably doesn’t make commercial sense for me to point this out, but the reality is that I can’t fix anyone. I can’t even change anyone. All I can do is facilitate an environment where you can create change in yourself.
You will be changing yourself.
The first thing that you need to recognize is that ultimately whether you work with a dating coach or not, you are ultimately the one that is responsible for your own development. Dating coaches have had experiences from a personal perspective going through this process, changing themselves from someone who was unattractive to women to someone who naturally attracts beautiful women into their life, and also from working with thousands of clients who have also gone through that journey. They’re going to often be able to see things that you can’t see.
A dating coach can speed up your growth.
A lot of the time, you are so close to your own issues that you get set in thinking that the problem exists, when there may not be one to begin with. A lot of the time the dating coach will be able to see the trees from the woods and will be able to pinpoint that scenario a lot better. It also depends on what you want to get out of this and how important it is to you. One of the advantages of getting dating expert advice is that they’ll be able to get you to the same spot that maybe you were able to get yourself to by working through it, but they’ll be able to do it ten times quicker. So if something takes you 6 years to get from point A to point B, the dating coach will often be able to fast-track that into 6 months. This is if you really buy into the experience and take action on the information that you’re being given.
Are you and your dating coach on the same page?
The final thing that I would encourage guys to do is that if they’re going to work with a dating coach, get a feel for what the dating coach’s philosophy is. If he has a holistic overview which is helping you develop yourself as a person, building your value up from the inside out, and is basically trying to help you improve your interactions with people in general, not just women, then I think that’s usually a good dating coach. If his approach is to try and sell you a magic bullet, give you a quick fix solution, and teach you how to trick women into liking you, then it’s really clear that this guy is not the right fit for someone who is into personal development and is on this forum reading these particular articles.
