Cute… isn’t great.
It’s cute to women that you haven’t been dating in a long time. Cute works for puppies, kittens, and children, but not really for the guy that is looking to get back in the dating game. How do you get dates without being seen as “broken.” For some men, they have been out of the dating game too long, and don’t really have any idea of where to begin. They really have no idea how to start meeting women again. Usually they’ve been in a relationship for years, so dating feels completely foreign to them.
Immerse yourself.
The key is to get back in the dating game, and really immerse yourself in it. What that means is going on dates. Try not to over-think it too much. The dating game does change, kind of like technology. A cellphone from today doesn’t look like the same one from five years ago. It’s the same with dating, and even girls’ preferences change over time.
My dating advice for getting back into the game is to start meeting some new girls and start going on dates; and to just get back into the swing of things. Expect that at the beginning, you’re going to feel uncomfortable. It might feel strange, it might feel weird, and in fact, you may not even enjoy it to begin with. You may be worried that girls want something long-term, especially if you’re relationship just ended.
Fun is okay.
Since you just got out of a relationship, beginning another long-term one is the last thing on your mind. You really have been out of the dating game haven’t you, because a lot of women these days don’t want anything serious either. They just want to have fun, they just want to enjoy themselves. A lot of women out there are just looking for sex with no commitment. How do you make sure that you’re on the same page and that she’s not getting the wrong idea from you? Just avoid doing boyfriend-girlfriend things together. Avoid giving signals like you want something serious. Don’t introduce her to all your friends or family, don’t do a lot of events together, and don’t act like a couple. Just keep it more sexual.
Make a date simple.
A date is simply hanging out with a girl, just the two of you. I would encourage you to get back in the social scene. If you need help with dating, just start getting out there and get back into the scene. Maybe get some new clothes, get in touch with your old friends and make some new ones – but just get back into the game. Start enjoying your new-found freedom. Look at being single as a positive experience, and make the most of it.
Don’t overthink.
One of the problems guys find is that they over-think situations. With dating, you’ll never be able to prepare everything in advance. That’s not the way it works. You’ve got to learn to enjoy the journey, and part of that journey is the thrill of uncertainty.
There’s no way you can prepare everything so that it all runs perfectly and no mistakes happen. And if you could, would you? Wouldn’t something so pre-planned be boring anyway? Come up with new dating ideas, and just enjoy the ride.
In any case, that’s not how human interactions work. You will enjoy dating much more when you embrace the unknown; when you allow a bit of uncertainty, and when you can have fun with it. When you’ve been out of the dating game too long, you just have to jump in feet first. Enjoy the jump, because where you land is half the fun.
