Be holistic.
When I focus on dealing with foods to make me more attractive, what I’m really looking at is building a more holistic approach to my life. My focus isn’t so much on specific foods as it is on recognizing the impact that foods play on my energy levels and on my physique. Once we understand the proper framework, we can then make decisions in terms of which foods we should be eating from the right perspective. Most people are aware of what the healthy foods are, but just to reinforce that idea I will reiterate.
You should be having more salads, more protein-based meals, less high-carbohydrate meals, and certainly less complex carbohydrates like sugars. You should also be drinking a lot more water to stay hydrated, and drinking a lot less soft drinks. Most people have a pretty good foundation of knowledge for that already, and if not, there is certainly a lot of information on the web nowadays about what the best types of food are.
Can you do what you know you should?
The real challenge most people face is making that decision to do what they already know they should be doing in the first place. This is really a question of motivation. I think the way I look at this is that most people, when they make decisions, make them based on using their past as a reference point. They fall back on habits.
Let’s say we’re working on becoming more attractive, or we’re working on dating more girls. If I was to say to a guy, “You know what – see that cute girl over there? Why don’t you go up to her and ask her how her night’s going?” And he might reply, “Oh, I just don’t do that sort of thing, that’s just not who I am.” What he is essentially doing there is he’s using his past experiences as a reference point to make a limiting decision on how he’s going to act in the present moment.
Don’t limit yourself.
People do this same thing when it comes to food. They know they should be eating healthy foods, but if in the past they’ve been prone to going to McDonald’s, or drinking soft drinks, or just being relaxed with their diet, they’ll then use that past experience as a determining reference, and choose to act in alignment with the way they’ve always acted. What they need to start doing is using their future self as a reference point for all decisions.
They need to get an idea of what the “10″ version of themselves looks like, of where they want to be heading. And then, they need to ask themselves: what would future me do? When they get to a point where they’re presented with a choice, eating correctly or eating incorrectly, they’re no longer choosing what to do in the moment as a reflection of their past. Instead, they’re using their future self as a reference point, and making all decisions based on that future person. And this is the only way to make real change.
Rather than identifying ten foods that are going to make a guy more attractive, what guys really want to focus on is how to utilize our future self to make decisions that are going to help assist them today, whether the topic is food, exercise, self improvement or striking up a conversation with a girl.
