I've got to say that there’s something different about getting a girlfriend than just picking up a girl casually. A girl might meet a guy at the club, take him home and have sex with him, but she may not necessarily want to date that guy. Dating a guy can sometimes be just a little bit different. Sometimes this can actually work in favor of nicer guys.

At the same time, they can actually make very good boyfriend material. The number one tip I can give you for getting a girlfriend is to meet her in the right places. That’s right; it doesn’t even involve any special techniques or you doing anything in particular. It’s just you meeting girls in the right sort of scenarios. You’ll find that when you meet girls and they’ve got boyfriends, and you ask them where they met their boyfriends, rarely do they ever say it was in a bar or club. Usually it was through friends or through a common interest.
So, I want to encourage you, if you want to get a girlfriend, to base your whole dating strategy around common interests or through improving your social circle. Getting a girlfriend is much easier when you meet girls at the right places. It really is that simple. If you're able to do these two things you're going to find that your dating situations are going to be very different from just approaching girls in the street or meeting girls in clubs, where the interactions need to be a little bit shorter and you have a lot less time to make a great first impression.
If you're meeting girls through your social circle you might go out for a few drinks, or something to eat, and you'll actually have hours up your sleeve to connect with the girls you like, and for you to meet them and get to know them. This actually works in the favor of nice guys. Getting a girlfriend can sometimes be easier for nicer guys that make an effort to meet girls in comfortable situations.

I actually had a student this week that was really into rock music, but he didn’t really want to go to concerts alone and a lot of his friends weren’t into rock music. He was having a lot of trouble meeting people that were into rock music, as well, particularly the rock music he liked. The advice I gave him was to spend an entire week looking for as many options as he possibly could to meet friends with a common interest.
Maybe it involved something on the internet. Maybe it involved going to some events. Maybe it involved joining some groups or going to particular stores and talking to people there. And what he found after a week of determined effort was 100 new ways to meet people with a common interest in rock music. Getting a girlfriend when you are good at making friends with common interests is so much easier. Rock music might not be your thing, it may be something else, but I guarantee you it’s well worth your time and energy to make a solid investment to look for as many options as possible to meet people who like the same things you do.
