I Won’t Give Up: Why Persistence is Vital in Life

I want to help you learn more about how to become a truly determined person that does not quit.

We all get those times when we want to bury our head in our hands, but we need to be persistent and be optimistic

Tell us about the times when your perseverance paid off, and comment below!

What is the one key attribute that sets highly successful people apart from any normal person? It’s the attitude that says “I won’t give up no matter what I’m faced with and whatever comes my way.” You may not have been that type of person in the past, but not it is time to change.

Becoming a survivor

Persistence, attitude and the ability to continually face your fears are the key ingredients to not giving up and solving your problems. Everyone who has ever achieved something great in their life has had to look their problems right in the eye and suffer through hardship. This is the kind of person that you are going to become. It’s these qualities that will take you from being a normal guy to a great man. Like Gary Halbert once said “Fear is not an option, deal with it and move on or face living a boring and dull life like most of the population.”

If you give up and think to yourself “it’s all getting too hard” then you’re just going to be like every other normal person out there and that is not what I want for you. You need to start pushing through the turmoil and being stubborn in the face of adversity to keep your dreams alive. Only then will you start to truly feel successful and full of raw determination.

Tackling your problems

Think of it like this, every problem in life has an expiration date and no problem is permanent. Any particular issue will eventually go away. It’s a temporary hurdle that you have to face, but within time it’s going to get better.

Accept that problems are normal, that you’re not the only one that’s faced difficulty in their life before and you certainly won’t be the last. Everyone has problems – they’re universal! It is all about your ability to quantify and rectify your own problems that makes you a fighter. You need to start accepting that problems are going to come your way and almost all of them will take you by surprise.  Do not worry, do not dwell and do not obsess on what tomorrow brings.

Problems lead to life experience

Problems and mistakes are the absolute best ways to learn more about life. When life gets difficult or you make a mistake, you have to treat it as a learning curve that will make you a stronger and better person when you beat it.

I understand it can be very tough at the time, but remember that each cloud has a silver lining.  You should always try to think about the good things that you will get out of resolving this issue in the end. These life lessons are something that you will cherish and they will ultimately make you a much greater person as a result.

Achieving clarity

It’s important that you define exactly what your problem is, so that you can establish the best way to beat it. You have to know thy foe to put together an action plan. Also – if you let these complications linger in your mind too much, it can begin to take its toll on your mind and your body. Try writing your problem down in clear black and white so you can really grasp what that problem or issue is. From here you can turn it into an informative diagram that illustrates your plan to conquer your demons and improve your life. This method really helps you to objectify the problem and clear your head.

Constantly complaining and looking for sympathy will not make the problem go away. All these behaviors will not change your situation but will just make you and the people around you more frustrated. Yes, problems in life are hard and everyone wants you to get through it. Remember, you are now the guy who will scream from the rooftops “I won’t give up”!

A problem shared is a problem halved and you should never shy away from reaching out for help. It is not a sign of weakness or conceding defeat. It means that through your persistence and determination you want to do whatever you can to improve your life and maintain your motivation. Your friends and family are a solid foundation that is always on hand to give you some insight and support throughout a difficult time in your life.
