I am constantly asked what topics interest women, because men think that if they know what a woman finds interesting, then this will be their key to keeping her attention . The art of conversation is something a lot of men need help in developing, so I’ll help you along and give you some great starters.
There are definitely some key topics that are always good to talk about and you’ll find them popping up time and time again in your interactions. I’d love to hear your ideas on topics you find that women love to talk about, so if you’d leave a comment below, maybe that could help the next guy.
You'll have no problem talking to women and keeping their interest if you have something of interest to talk about. Develop passion in the things you do, and women will be naturally drawn to you.
The first starting point that I’ve found for interesting conversation is passion.
This will naturally be different for everyone. If you can identify the things that you’re passionate about and you can seek that in the girl, and get a feel for who she is underneath the surface, that’s always a great conversation topic for a date. But in reality, the passion must come from you, because that is what makes you who you are, and it reflects in the tone of your voice.
Your own experiences are always great topics for women. They love to hear about your life.
Another great topic is things you have accomplished, and exciting things that you have experienced in your life. People have always had their own experience with travel, holidays, where they want their career to head, what things they spend most of their time doing, what their creative influences are, and what they do to relax. The list is endless.
These are all good topics, but I think there’s also a tendency for guys to focus too much on trying to talk about hot topics that they think the girl is interested in. If that’s a topic that the guy has no interest in at all, if he’s going to be talking about Hollywood gossip and it’s something that doesn’t really fascinate him, then he’s actually going to lose momentum in the interaction.
He’s far better off talking about a topic that he knows about and that he’s passionate about. Even if it’s a topic that the girl has no interest, what we’ve found is that women respond to passion, they respond to emotion, and when you talk about a topic that you’re excited about it elicits a particular level of emotion from you, which in turn excites her. Talking about something that interest you also shows your self-confidence, and that is a definite attractant for women.
Are there any good books or resources on conversing in a more interesting way?
Yes, I found Edward De Bono brought out a book called How to be more Interesting, which I felt had some really great, unique perspectives. I think this would be a good starting point for any guy that wanted to put more energy into this part of his life.
All of these suggestions are great ideas on how to make conversation with women and keep it alive. When you start to develop more interest to your lifestyle, you start to have more substance to your life. This indeed makes you a more interesting individual.
As you develop more interest, and you become more interesting, you still need to be able to express these things more effectively, and our communication and conversation skills are a huge part of how we do that.
Naturally becoming a better communicator and becoming more creative with your conversation will assist you in not only being more interesting but also with expressing yourself in a more interesting manner. This will certainly help you in developing topics that interest women, and you will have NO PROBLEM in keeping their attention.
