According to some experts, the gap between men and women is closing
For the most part, men and women have very similar motivations, and it can be a positive thing if two people in a relationship are on the same team and have the same values, and want to achieve the same goals.
However, it’s also important to have a little bit of a scientific understanding of the way that men and women work in terms of brain development. The good news is, for you males out there, is that the male brain is slightly bigger than the female brain – approximately 10% larger, in fact.
One of the other things that’s really common with males is they have much more of a focus on being left-brain dominant. Whereas women tend to have more of a balance over both hemispheres, this tends to mean that men are far more logical. Because of this, when it comes to problem solving and math (or reading maps!), that’s where a guy can be more skilled.
What girls are good at
Meanwhile, women are far more creative. They’re far more in touch with their feelings when they communicate. That can actually create a little bit of a distance and a little bit of a challenge for a lot of guys, which is what can make dating so challenging.
When guys talk, we talk in facts. What we did, where we did it, and when we’re going to do it again. When women talk, they talk more in emotions. They talk about why they did it and what that experience was like for them. They talk about how that relates to other experiences that they have had in their life. They talk about the changes that it has created in them on a deep level.
How to get on a girl’s wavelength
If you want to become better at being able to talk to women, you actually need to be able to concentrate on talking to them on an emotional level. Another thing that is really fascinating and that is different between the two sexes is the way we react to stress. Men tend to deal with stress internally. They almost have a flight or fight response to stress, whereas women tend to approach stressful situations as wanting to be able to talk to people and express their feelings. So, at times when the relationship is about to break down, it’s interesting because both partners have different coping mechanisms. That can actually heighten the negative experience that both people are going through.
I guess, as a man, just being able to be better at communicating when issues pop up and getting them out on the table can actually significantly enhance the relationship. It can really help to balance out the whole ‘men v women’ issue.
One final thing before we move on is that I think that it’s actually a huge positive to be able to recognize the differences between men and women and to be able to help women to reconnect with some of their feminine energy.
In the modern world, there’s a tendency for women to move to more and more masculine-type roles. What women like is for a man to be assertive and to take control, and by remembering that women need men to take the lead, you’ll have a better chance of strong relationships and memorable dates. So, if you can help them to find their way home they’ll be incredibly grateful to you.
