Get the timing right
First of all, don’t call her immediately after you get her number. You want to wait a few days to avoid looking desperate. I generally wait two days before getting in touch. You don’t want to let her wait too long, because that could seem quite rude.
Don’t ever go ahead and ask her for a first date. That’s a really boring and unappealing way to ask a girl out. You want to ask her out in a more casual sense: “Do you want to go out and have a drink sometime? Do you want to go and watch this great play that I bought tickets for?” or “Do you want to come out and check out this really cool party that I’m going to at the weekend?” Phrases like these tend to do the trick.
Avoid putting pressure on your date
It’s also great if you can bring her along to something cool that you’re going to do anyway. Then it’s almost like she’s just accompanying you, and this keeps things casual. Of course, make what you’re doing fun. Rather than just going for the standard drink, go and do something different like bowling or visiting a theme park.
